Builth Wells has a strong community with plenty of events going on and it provides a fine base for walking, cycling or a trip to the Royal Welsh Show, the biggest agricultural show in Europe which takes place in July each year.
The Wyeside Arts Centre is a busy venue for live and visual arts and cinema and there is an 18 hole parkland golf course.
The Wye Valley Walk passes through Builth Wells on its 136 mile route from Chepstow to the source of the Wye on the slopes of Plynlimon. The Elan Valley and The Brecon Beacons are both just a short drive from Builth Wells.
The nearest railway station is located at Builth Road on the Heart of Wales line, some 1.5 miles distant. The town is also served by excellent bus routes.
